With more than 30 years of leadership experience in the steel sector in Techint Group companies such as Sidor, Siderar, Ternium and Tenaris, Ricardo Prosperi assumed the role of Tenaris President in Canada in August 2019. Prosperi managed the company’s activity across the country for all 1,000 employees, including its Canadian headquarters (Calgary), manufacturing facilities (Sault Ste. Marie, Calgary and Nisku) and service facilities (Grande Prairie, Fort Saskatchewan, and Bienfait).
Prosperi served as a Tenaris President for the Andean Region, responsible for an investment program of over $400M USD resulting in the creation of over 500 jobs. He was responsible for the company’s regional operations in Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Central America and the Caribbean since 2010. He also presided over the TenarisTuboCaribe Foundation investing over $ 500,000 USD per year in community development and was a director of the Latin American Steel Association Alacero from 2007 to 2019.
Prior to his responsibilities in Tenaris, Prosperi built his career in Ternium, the Techint Group’s steel-making company. After beginning in the planning department in Argentina in 1985, he was promoted to several positions until 2007 when he was appointed President at Ternium Sidor in Venezuela where he was responsible for 6,000 employees and International General Director of Ternium in Mexico until 2010.
Mr. Prosperi graduated in 1987 from Instituto Tecnologico Buenos Aires (ITBA) with a degree in Industrial Engineering. In 1998, he completed his MBA at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
He is an Argentine citizen, currently residing in Calgary, Canada.
