Bernadine Coleman was elected to O’Chiese First Nation Council in 2021. Bernadine’s background is of Anishnaabe heritage and she speaks her traditional language, Saulteaux.
Bernadine achieved her Bachelor of Arts, with a Major in Criminal Justice. Prior to being on the O’Chiese Council, she was the O’Chiese Economic Development Officer. Bernadine transfers her acquired skills, abilities and knowledge to advance her communities’ goals of long-term sustainability.
Bernadine is passionate about increasing First Nations negotiation powers, international profiles and her own business expertise. She is focused on sharpening her own knowledge regarding the energy sector, including the scientific, technical and financial nuances. She has an active role on the Board of O’Chiese Energy, a 100% O’Chiese owned growth-oriented energy company, with equity interests in natural gas and liquids production.
Bernadine’s interests include family, lifelong learning and making positive impacts for her Community and is a champion for strategic Indigenous resource development.
