Chief Annette Lonechild is the Chief of White Bear First Nations, located in Treaty 4 in southern Saskatchewan.
Chief Lonechild has over two decades of service to her community as both Councillor and Chief. She also has extensive industry experience in the energy, gaming and land management fields, and has served on numerous First Nations boards to advance First Nations rights and economic opportunities. She is also the Chairman of White Bear First Nations Development Ltd.
Chief Lonechild is a direct descendant of Chief Whitebear. Here traditional and cultural teachings have been passed on from her maternal grandparents.
She is a passionate defender of treaty and inherent rights and committed to moving her nation towards economic sovereignty.
Chief Lonechild was recognised for her contributions with the Governor General award in January 2023.
